How Can I Get .dot Files to Appear as Templates in Word 2002/XP Task Pane?

I need to get certain .DOT templates to appear when I click on the General Templates link in the Task Pane of Word 2002/XP Under WindowsXP Pro. However, I have not as yet figured out exactly which folder to place them in so that they will appear there. So, I shall greatly appreciate your kind help on this.

The folders are shown in Tools | Options, File Locations tab. You might have
to click Modify to figure out what the entire path is. Usually you would
put your created templates in the folder listed under User Templates.
