#error and #name?
Hiya
I am getting #error and #name? errors on my report. If anyone could help me out with either of these I would really appreciate it. Details are below Thanks very much for your help! #error the report is linked to a query, and contains text fields to display each row of the query, eg Controlname = TxtSoftware, CountrolSource: Software (the field in the query) At the bottom I have a "totals" row: ControlSource = Sum([Software]) I have also tried ControlSource = sum([TxtSoftware]) but in both cases I get #error displayed! #name? The report is linked to a query, but I want a field that does a count of rows from a different table. so, control source = Select count(*) from tbl1 where Software = 5. However i get a 3name? error!! Im very confused! |

So, you are attempting to Sum() a text field? If Software is a text field
containing all numeric values, you can try: =Sum(Val(Software)) Also, make sure the sum is in the a group or report footer, not the Page footer. -- Duane Hookom MS Access MVP -- "confused" wrote in message ... An other item to check isto make sure that any textbox
with a calculated value is name different than a field name, for instance if you have a "price" field, and in the report you make the textbox with a formula like = [price] * [quantity] you must make sure that the textbox is not named "price" but rather something like "TotalPrice" Hope this helps.
