Default Can't update 1 out of 4 links in a workbook???

I have 4 different workbooks named: DS, COOP, fri1, fri2. Each Workbook
contains several worksheets. The first sheet in each workbook is the
total for DS, COOP, fri1, fri2.

I have copied the totals from each of the workbooks above into a new
workbook - Let's call it 'Total market', and now the strange thing
happends.

When I reopen the Workbook 'Total market' (DS, COOP, fri1, fri2 closed)
I'm asked if I wanna update the links to my sources - DS, COOP. etc. I
will ofcourse like that and press 'Update'

Now 'DS', 'fri1' and 'fri2' is updated, but 'COOP' isn't. I get a box
saying 'Unable to read file'

If I go to 'edit' - 'Links', all is ok except for COOP. It says
'Values not updated'. I have tried to reestablish the link but I still
get 'unable to read file'

Now if I open the COOP workbook the numbers are updated

What am I doing wrong here?

Any suggestions?

I think I'd close excel.

Rename Coop.xls to CoopOLD.xls

then create a new Coop.xls and populate it with some data (use the same
locations as the real one!).

Then open your workbook with the links.

If it retrieves the values from the test version of Coop.xls, then I think I'd
start rebuilding my real data.

And are all these linked files on a local harddrive?

If no, maybe if you moved them there, you could see if that helped. Maybe it's
a network (hardware??) problem.
