run time error

when I connect to the network via a vpn connection and
open outlook (2000) I receive this message and cannot open
outlook. When my laptop is direct in our network I do not
have this problem. I use windows 2000

message:

microsoft visual cc runtime library
Runtime error
program: c:\program files\microsoft office\outlook.exe

this application has requested the runtim to terminate it
in an unusual way. pls contact the aplication's support
team for more information
