Door snaps to wall
Hello,
I'm fairly new at Visio 2003. I am drawing a plan of a house and I am trying to position a door next to a wall. However, the centre of the door keeps snapping to the centre of the wall. I tried to disable snap and glue in Tools, but that didn't have any effect. Is the program malfunctioning or is there a function that prevents the door from being positioned freely? I guess my main question is: How can I position a door without it snapping to anything? |

Door snaps to wall
with snap and glue off I don't think it should snap anymore, but try moving
door via nudge (arrow) keys (or shift+arrow) to get to fine tune into position instead of using mouse. "ksporry" wrote in message ... Hello, I'm fairly new at Visio 2003. Door snaps to wall
That drawing type uses an add-on to provide the snapping behavior. It is
not tied to Visio's regular snap. -- Mark Nelson Office Graphics - Visio Microsoft Corporation This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. I know this is an old quesiton but it comes up first when searching the web for an answer so I am updating with my solution.
To stop a door from snapping to walls open the door's Shape Sheet and under the "User-defined Cells" heading find "SubVisDoorFrameToWall" and then set it to "=0", deleting the "=ThePage!User.VisDoorFrameToWall" that is there. This works with the individual door for which you change the value. Thanks to Mark Nelson [MS] for giving me the hint the led me to find the solution. |
