Default Create a text control handle?

How do I create the text control handle the yellow diamond that allows me to
position text attached to a shape?

This handle seems to come standard with many of the shapes. However, when I
create a shape from grouped objects I don't see the control handle (yellow
diamond) for the text. I am able to type text for the grouped object and can
move it using the text tool, but would prefer the yellow diamond.

Hello G,

You could have a look at this blog post that includes how to add a control
handle. The only difference for your situation is that you need to assign
the TxtPinX and TxtPinY (under the Text Transform ShapeSheet section) to
reference your new control:

If you've not seen the ShapeSheet before you might find reading this post
first helpful:

Hope that helps.

Best regards

John
