view categories doesn't show all categories
14 contacts have a categories identified, but that category doesn't show up
when I go to View-Category. Two other categories do show up correctly. How do I get this other category to show up with I want to view a list of the contacts in each category? |

view categories doesn't show all categories
You have missed a lot in your explanation so I will attempt to fill in the
blanks - If I am off track, come back with a better explanation of what you are doing: I think you are looking at the By Category view of the Contacts folder. You won't see al Categories as headings in this view. The Contacts will be grouped according to their Category. If no Contacts is in the Category "Trainer" for example, you will not see that Category at all. Maybe your view is corrupted, it's possible to reset views - http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/commandlines.htm I hope this helps you at least a little bit! view categories doesn't show all categories
It appears that you understood my question. Yes, I am in the By Category
view of the Contacts folder. I have many contacts that are assigned to many different categories. Two of the categories are showing up in this view, the others aren't. I confirmed that I have contacts in the categories that aren't showing up. I opened the Outlook link to reset views, as you recommended, but don't see anything related to this issue -- at least nothing was obvious enough to jump out at me. So I need more direction for using this link and in finding the exact info for resetting views. this is from the page/link I posted:
cleanviews Restores default views. Use with care as all custom views you created are lost. -- I hope this helps you at least a little bit! PMJI, but did you check to see if that view has a filter set on it? That would certainly explain what you're seeing.
