Publisher Cannot Open the File
Dumb question (sorry to ask)......Did you just download the hotfix or did

Publisher Cannot Open the File
As stated above, I have taken ALL recommended steps, including downloading
AND installing the hotfix as Administrator, run the diagnostics, did a repair on office, I have the file in a folder with full access (both network and local locations tried), turned off my AV, even tried running Pub from safe mode, etc. So what's next? Publisher Cannot Open the File
Hi Mary,
The printers are the same. However, we have upgraded our server to Windows SBS 2008. As a result the printers live at different network locations. Publisher Cannot Open the File
P.S. Actually there are other Pub 2007 files I can open that were created at
the same time. However, the only difference I can see is that the one I cannot open has embedded Excel chart objects. If I remove the embedded objects using Pub 2003 I can open what remains of the file in Pub 2007??? Note that the same version of Office is still used (2007) but SP2 has been installed. Cheers, Kim. Publisher Cannot Open the File
Publisher saves all printer information with each file. There is the chance
Publisher is looking for the printer; not finding it, and then not opening. This happens now and then. Select a new default printer in the Printer Folder that is not on the server. There are generic drivers you can install; Publisher Image Setter is one. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Michael in CA" wrote in message ... Publisher Cannot Open the File
Okay, at this point I have uninstalled Office SP2 and now all files are
opening fine, thus confirming SP2 is the cause of the issue. Furthermore, installing the hotfix from KB972566 did not resolve the problem.
