Northwind database - Products table child of Suppliers Table?
Hello,
In the book "Visual Studio Tools for Office - C# 2005", they are referencing a Northwind datbase/dataset that is structured with the Suppliers table as parent and the Products tables as child and in the dataset view, the Products table appears indented to the right under the Suppliers table. When i went to download the latest version of the Northwind datbase, which appears to be the version for year 2000, those 2 tables do not appear to be in the indented format appearing in the book. The book pointed to the Northwind db in the \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Samples directory and when i compare this db with the downloaded db they appear to the same. Thanks very much for any references! BobK -- bobk |

What version of Access do you have, Bob? If you have your CD, there have
previously been (Acc2000 and before) a folder called Samples or Tutorials which contains all these goodies but doesn't necessarily install when you install Office. Don't know if you still get that on the later versions. Evi "bobk544" wrote in message ... Northwind database - Products table child of Suppliers Table?
ok please scratch this post as i thought i was looking at the db when in
actuality i'm looking at the "dataset" and apparently, VS might be making that indented presentation when it discovers there is a relationship between tables, however, my VS is not indenting the Products table as shown in the book, so there must be a setting that's not set correctly or something Thanks anyway BobK -- bobk "bobk544" wrote: Hello, In the book "Visual Studio Tools for Office - C# 2005", they are referencing a Northwind datbase/dataset that is structured with the Suppliers table as parent and the Products tables as child and in the dataset view, the Products table appears indented to the right under the Suppliers table. It sounds like the sort of thing you might get on the View Menu.
