Default anyone prefer Outlook to Outlook Express?or visa-versa?

My husband uses Outlook at work, but I do not find it easy. to use.
FYI (I have the home computer he uses the City's computer which everyone
there has been taught to use .
We all use Dell as we bought ours through a City deal
,(they could buy their home use one for the same cost )

Is it possible to have my mail come in to Outlook Express
and his Outlook?
Or have all mail go to both systems?

Two many people have our one address ,it's too confusingto change to Yahoo
for me , means the writer of letter has to remember to add my address to
letters.

Has anyone used both, and which was easier and why

When I last had a Windows 98 until 2002 ,Express was very different no
access to other e addresses to use.

Is this the place to ask thisquestion ? Or do I go to Windows HELP
section???

Hope someone replies soon
Thanks

Sue A

Outlook doesn't have the giggle factor that OE has. OE is much easier to
learn to use but Outlook is much more powerful in all respects expect news
in which it uses and requires Outlook Express to be installed.

Yes. The accounts need to be set to leave the mail on the server for X
number of days. This way both would have a chance to download it. By setting
the X number to one or two, that way it's not staying there and will be
removed to not let the mailbox fill up.

Tools | Accounts | Mail | account name | Properties | Advanced tab
Leave mail.........

Two many people have our one address ,it's too confusingto change to Yahoo
for me , means the writer of letter has to remember to add my address to
letters.

No need as mentioned above.

Has anyone used both, and which was easier and why

I use both all the time and for business purposes I'll use Outlook 2003. I
may have a need to print an email when it's received and not ever read it
from within Outlook till afterwards. I have a client that uses Outlook to
recieve the mail from one particular account and uses it in just this
manner. It is receiving an online application from their web site.

Outlook's Junk Mail filtering is second to none.

Outlook Express was designed for the home user. They send and receive basic
emails with picture attachments, etc. It's design is much more friendly but
it does have it's problems.

Outlook has many many many more features. It's more of a Personal
Information Manager than just an email program. It has a calendar which OE
doesn't. Sticky notes, auto archiving, journaling (when you wrote what) and
more but I personally don't know anyone that utilizes all it's abilities.

The giggle factor on it is lower but once you get used to it which does
require using it and time, you may well not want OE anymore. Then the giggle
factor goes way up.

When I last had a Windows 98 until 2002 ,Express was very different no
access to other e addresses to use.

OE can have multiple accounts, and even multiple Identities to separate
those accounts.

Is this the place to ask thisquestion ? Or do I go to Windows HELP
section???

This is the place.

Others may well have additional to add.

The last version of Outlook I used was 97. I didn't need all that extra
stuff, so as soon as Outlook Express came out I threw Outlook away.

Outlook Express can and always has been able to access more that one email
address. I access four on one of my machines. Adding an email account just
involves knowing what settings you need and clicking Tools | Accounts | Add.

Eh? It isn't better than Mozilla Thunderbird, or Pegasus Mail. It isn't
better than K9, or POPFile (filtering proxies). It probably isn't even
better than Yahoo!'s "SpamGuard".

I am not saying that it isn't good, just that it isn't "better than all
the others".

If you're both using the same email address, there's not going to be any
practical way to handle your mail separately from his. The only way to
deal with that situation is to set up your mail readers to leave the mail
on the server, each downloading all messages and deleting the ones
intended for the other person. That's really messy and a lot of work
compared to using distinct email addresses.
