Default normal.dot

How can I change normal.dot. I must have changed it
accidentally. Now 'new document' opens up in landscape,
legal size and 2 columns - which was the last document i
did. When i try to change page setup a dialogue box tells
me the margins are too small or too large, but won't tell
me how to fix the problem and I can't go ahead. I need
help ASAP please.
