Default How do I place a PDF file in Publisher 2003?

I am trying to place an image from file (in this case a PDF) into Publisher
2003. I get a list of file types to choose from but PDF is not listed? Is
there an update or someother way to do this?

Insert Object.
Is this what you mean? You may not be able to extract just the image unless you
have Acrobat. You can try cropping.

You can try Ghostscript. A tutorial he

I don't believe you can insert a pdf file into Publisher; but, you could
insert an image of the pdf.

Open the pdf file, now press Print Scrn. Next open Paint and select Edit
Paste.

Now you have and image of the pdf file.

Using Irvanview open the image, resize, crop if needed and save as image.

You now have an image file of the pdf file and can insert it into Publisher.

If you don't have the free Irvanview program, you can get it at

Actually, it's even easier, no need to use another tool.

In Acrobat (reader or full version), just use the "Snapshot" tool to select
the area of the PDF you wish to capture - it could be an image, a paragraph,
or the whole page. Then switch over to Publisher and paste it in.

The Snapshot tool icon looks like a camera or is found on the Tools menu,
"Select and Zoom" sub menu.

Many thanks for the post; I use PDF-XChange Viewer Pro and it also has the
"Snapshot" tool (plus many other great features).
