Default Do you need MS Powerpoint to view a .pps file?

I have a .pps file that I would like to send to others who may not have
Powerpoint installed on their computer.

You will just need PowerPoint Viewer. PowerPoint Viewer 2003 can be

The full version of Microsoft PowerPoint is NOT required to open and view a Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation
(.ppt), Microsoft PowerPoint SlideShow (.pps), or Microsoft PowerPoint Template (.pot).

The free PowerPoint Viewer is all that is needed to open and view PowerPoint files. See the links below for
more information.

If a user is running an earlier version of Windows, can't get Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2003 to install/run,
