Default Outlook 2007 says 'no email program associated'

I have just updated from Windows 7 RC to released version; trying to install
Office 2007 Enterprise. Outlook starts but gives me the following error
message:

"There is no email program associated to perform the requested action.
Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an
association in the Default Programs control panel."

I thought Outlook was the email program?? It will not allow me to set up an
email account (the Email Setup panel appears but nothing happens when I click
the Email accounts button)

This is a guess, but let's try to set Internet options.

In Windows 7, go to Start - Control Panel - Network and Internet -
Internet Options - Advanced - Reset...

It's a chicken and the egg problem.

Until Outlook starts, I don't see a way to set it as a default mail
program. Try starting Windows Live Mail, setting it as default, then try
to start Outlook.

A properly installed Outlook will show up in Default Programs portion of
Control Panel.

Try this: in Internet explorer address bar, type
" press Enter and see what happens.

All Office Enterprise questions and issues should be addressed to the phone number
that you received with the purchase of Enterprise through the HUP program. This is
included with your documentation.
Just in case I also posted it below in the link. Have your documentation on the
purchase at hand

Here you will find the Phone numbers and email addresses as to where and whom to
contact about Office Enterprise and your issue.
Scroll down to the bottom of page to North America
