Default how to set background color in pivot table excel 2003?

hi, i have some questions on pivot table
1)i have using a pivot table in excel 2003 which is directly link to the cube in sql server 2000, when i want to setting the formula for the particular field, the menu for the formulas is grey color which is disable.
2) how to do the setting for a particular cell background color?because i need to set the different color for few type of level of the value in the cell.
