Default "File As" Not Working
Hi there,
I've imported a set of data to my Outlook contacts which now show opposite of my default "File As" setting of First Name then Last Name. Instead they are showing as Last Name, First Name. I have checked the default "File As" setting is correct as is the current view's "File As" settings. There are too many new entries to manually change each one. Is there a way to universally change all entries to First Name Last Name? Thanks, Amie Glass |

Default "File As" Not Working
When you import Contacts the settings for derived fields will not apply. To
change the File As field for existing Contacts requires running code: http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "AmieGlass" wrote in message ... Default "File As" Not Working
The import wizard does not apply the FileAs settings based on the UI
settings so you would manually have to change them by either writing your own code or using a 3rd party program. You may find ContactGenieToolkit of interest - one of the current 24 functions is standardization of the FileAs field for existing contacts to one of 11 pre-defined formats (of which First/Last Name is one) Info can be found he http://www.contactgenie.com/cgtoolkit.htm Karl __________________________________________________ ____ Karl Timmermans - The Claxton Group ContactGenie - Importer/DataPorter/Exporter/Toolkit "Contact import/export/data management tools for Outlook '2000/2007" http://www.contactgenie.com "AmieGlass" wrote in message ...
