If Function??
Hello Forum,
Excuse me for asking the same question. I submitted on the Excel 2010 forum in error. I have several columns of data. I need to ensure that a part of one column ends up as a part of another. Allow me to set an example... Column 'A' has a cell entry of e.g. A123 (or any single letter and 3 numbers). I need to make sure that this combination e.g A123 is inserted in the same part of the next column with the following format... x_xxxxx-A123xxxxxx Hope this makes sense. Thank you for you help. If Function??
If you want to insure that the value in B1 "contains" the value in A1, use
Conditional Formatting. Click on B1 and set the condtional formattting to: FormulaIs: =LEN(B1)=LEN(SUBSTITUTE(B1,A1,"")) and pick a distinctive background color. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu201001 "Dave Tee" wrote: Hello Forum, Excuse me for asking the same question.
