Default Missing "Link(s)"

Hello,
I just upgraded from MS-Office 97 to MS-Office 2003.
I have 2 files (file A and file B), that where linked to each.
If I entered data in file A, file B would show the data I entered.
Since upgrading to MS-Office 2003, file A and file B are not communicating.
Can/will someone explain this to me, then point me to some examples???

Thank you,

Charles

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Edit tab.
Clear the Ask to update automatic links check box. If the box is cleared,
the links are automatically updated, and no prompt is displayed.

Perhaps the upgrade changed the value.

It probably will not happen again.
