New computer installation
i just bought a new pc with vista. I used PC mover to move from my old pc
to my new pc. It copied Office 2007. But now, it is asking for the product key again. I entered it and it comes up invalid, yet I am certain it is the right product key. (still in the box). What do I do now to get it to recognize the key? ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. New computer installation
You can't "copy" a program. It has to be installed.

Recover your new PC to factory specs, allow Vista to do its update, before
installing anything. Uninstall any trial version of Office, together with the Activation Assistant via add /remove dialogue. Reboot the PC Install Office from your cd "Rosaline" wrote in message ... i just bought a new pc with vista. I used PC mover to move from my old pc to my new pc. It copied Office 2007. New computer installation
PC Mover did in fact copy over all my programs. I did not have to re-install
anything. Office 2007 was my only trouble. "JoAnn Paules" wrote: You can't "copy" a program. New computer installation
That's interesting.
It sounds as if PCMover actually moves the Registry along with the full contents of the HDD. If so, it would overwrite existing files -- which is okay (with the possible exception of Service Pack problems) and leave pre-existing files alone -- giving you new features and presumably enhancing old features, Service Pack issues aside. If this were true, then Office Suite Applications ought to still work, along with the other applications. To recap, You had Office '07, among other applications. Bought a new machine. Used PCMover. The other applications work okay, Office does not work. If your old machine was a Vista machine, and the new one is also Vista, then I'm not sure where the problem lays. If your old machine was not a Vista machine, and the new one is, then I'd have to say that PCMover does not do what I said above, else Vista would not work. "Rosaline" wrote in message ...
