Default Creating a newspaper look using Word

Greetings: I am attempting to create a document that very closely resembles a
newspaper, with a banner, columns, etc. I can come close but not close enough
to be convincing. I seem to have trouble with word and character spacing. I
also seem to have difficulty with creating a banner. Any assistance on
settings will be very greatly appreciated.
