Default more problems copying and pasting...

hi there,

i did a search and found some help when it comes to pasting text, but...
what about pictures? when i copy and paste a picture in publisher, i get an
extra box, sometimes a box within a box within a box!!!

i tried using the different options on the edit, paste special option, but i
haven't found one that works yet. it's such a pain in the butt when you're
copying and pasting a lot of pictures. i realize saving them to the hard
drive would work better, but they are all in an email draft (gotta love
gmail!!!) that i do from a different location than the document that i'm
trying to paste the pix in to.

if there is something i can do, can i make it a preference? i really hate to
think that i have to do something special each and every time.

also, why does it do this? what makes that helpful???

btw - i'm using pub 2002. do any of the upgrades get rid of this problem?
just wondering...

PS - i tried the hints for pasting text and that doesn't work either. i only
have the option to paste as a new table, new text frame, or html.

Are you pasting from a web page?

yes, the pictures were originally online.

(i'm not doing anything bad with them, i swear! i'm planning a wedding and
collecting pictures of bouquets that i like. the pub document is just for
putting them all in one place to show my mom!)

Copying and pasting from a web browser into Publisher isn't a terribly
good idea (it can cause other problems than the ones you've
encountered). Best practice is to save to a local folder and then insert
into Publisher.

ok, thanks for the advice.

any way to solve the problem though, other than "it's not a good idea?"

Ed just told you: save to a local folder. That means, make a new folder
on your desktop so you can find it easily. Name it 'weddingbouquet'.
Right click on images and save them in that folder. Or save them to the
desktop and drag them into the folder.

Then open a publisher document and use the insert graphic icon (looks
like scenery, not the icon like the man's head [this applies to
publisher 2002 for sure, may be different in other versions]} to insert
the image into your document. Repeat.

i should have clarified. i was just wondering if that was my only option. i
can do that from now on, but the pictures i'm using now are in an email
draft. i guess if i had other options someone would have mentioned them by
now.

is this always the case, even in the newer versions?

Hi,

I just noticed we have the same name, only you don't put a cap on yours.

We have different email/sign in addresses though.

Just thought I'd point this out so it wouldn't be confusing. When I
first saw it I thought I'd asked the question and forgot (LOL)
