Default transferring files

I recently purchased Office Home and Student 2007. I am trying to move my
OpenOffice files to microsoft word and cannot figure out how to do it, can
anyone help?

You simply copy your OpenOffice documents to "My Documents" folder on to
your HD. This assumes you are using XP on your system. Once you have
copied them, you can open them in Word, Excel etc as and when you want to.

Just point the Open dialog box to the file you want to open and you should
be able to open without any issue.

If they were saved as Open Office files (.odt, etc.) then you may need to
convert them within Open Office to Word, Excel, and PPT format files using a
SaveAs option. The reason I say may is that Word 2007 will open most native
..odt files, PowerPoint will open most native .odp files, and Excel will open
most native .ods files.

When you start one of the programs and click the Office Orb then Open you
may have to change the file type to be able to display the .odt, .odp and
..ods files. If the defaults are still in your installation of Office the
files should display automatically in the open dialogue box.
