go to the delete items and see if it is there. if not go to the programs
menu and right click and choose send to -desktop (create shortcut)

Easiest method is to do a Detect and Repair and elect the option to restore
your shortcuts.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Jon asked:

Detect and repair has not worked in our case. Here's the real fix.

Add this key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}]

It adds back the original icon with the correct right-click
functionality. Creating a shortcut is NOT the same thing.
