What service pack level is Windows XP at? It must be at least SP-2.
Also, if you copy the CD to your hard drive and install from there, does it work? -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Thanks for your help Millie. I am using XP service pack 2. I am a novice so
how would I copy the CD to my hard drive and install from there? -- pod "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: What service pack level is Windows XP at? It must be at least SP-2. Installing Microsoft Outlook 2007
Create a folder on your desktop called Office 2007. Put in your DVD or CD,
whichever you have. Stop the automatic installation. Right click on your DVD or CD drive and select Explore. Once the DVD/CD is displayed, select all (Edit-Select All) then Edit-Copy to folder - select the folder you created on the desktop. Double click the folder on your desktop, browse to setup.exe and double click on that. Follow the prompts. Keep your CD/DVD AND the case for when you may need to reinstall or repair Office. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Installing Microsoft Outlook 2007
Is this an upgrade from Office 2003? This error also occurs when the local
installation source from Office 2003 is corrupted. Simply inserting the Office 2003 CD and clicking OK after this error pops up usually allows Windows Installer to complete the uninstall of Office 2003 so the install of Office 2007 can continue. This one worked for me. No idea why and i am really annoyed that when I
sumply put in an Outlook 2007 disk i get a silly and inexplicable message like this. Why can't MS be more user friendly? "Bob Cooley [MSFT]" wrote: Is this an upgrade from Office 2003?
