Default Imported Picture resolution is reduced

After importing a picture, I scale the picture smaller to appropriately fit
in my presentation. In PP 2007 automatically reduces the resolution of the
picture. If I try to increase the size of the picture to its original size
it becomes grainy because PP 2007 has reduced the resolution. How do I turn
this "feature" off? I realize PP 2007 does this to conserve overall file
sizes.

Old versions of PP did not have this "feature".
Any help?

You can disable this automatic compression on a presentation to presentation
basis -- or for all files, but the latter involves a registry hack -- all
details can be found in the above URL.
