Importing from OE: Japanese subject fonts corrupted
When importing into Outlook 2002 from Outlook Express the subject lines of
emails written using a Japanese font (MS MinchoP) are corrupted. I've tried customising the Display View to determine whether it was simply a matter of font used (changed Tahoma to MS MinchoP) but still the subjects were corrupted. Is there a fix for this ? |

In Outlook 2002, the subject always uses the default system character set. The message body should appear properly but the subject will not.
The "fix" is to upgrade to OL2003 which has improved character set capabilities. -- Athena "Steve" wrote: When importing into Outlook 2002 from Outlook Express the subject lines of emails written using a Japanese font (MS MinchoP) are corrupted. Thanks,
But... then isn't this a bug for which MS should release a free upgrade ? Otherwise we're left with having to QA the whole MS office release again from scratch.... Otherwise we're left with having to QA the whole MS office release again from scratch.... If your email requirements include a significant proportion of multi-lingual documents, you should upgrade to Outlook/Office 2003. -- Athena |
