Default Outlook 2010 and SharePoint 2007

Hello,

I've run into 2 small problems while working with Outlook 2010 Beta and
SharePoint 2007 that I'm hoping some the wonderful folks that work these
forums might be able to help with.

The first issue that when I connect a sharepoint list to Outlook it seems to
always connect as read only. I've looked at the site and folder settings in
SharePoint until I'm blue in the face. I'm obviously missing something.
What do I need to do to be able to add the lists with the group permissions
assigned by SharePoint so that I can add, remove, modify, etc content on the
SharePoint server from Outlook?

NOTE: Selecting the 'Advanced' button on the 'SharePoint List Options'
connect screen looks normal except server version says that it is not
available and then of course the permissions say read only.

The second problem is a bit more menacing. When I have SharePoint lists
connected to my Outlook there are times when send and receive will appear to
hang up during the SharePoint phase. When the send/receive is active in this
hung up state it puts Outlook in a situation where it wants to maintain
focus. If I click on another application the desired application will gain
focus briefly then Outlook will flash in the task bar and focus has shifted
back to Outlook. Cancelling the send/recieve clears the problem up. Took
awhile to figure that out. I need to do some more testing but I suspect this
may be limited to when Outlook is trying to send updates back to the
SharePoint server.

While Outlook is the affected application I realize these questions may be
better suited for the SharePoint discussion groups. My apologies if I have
miss posted. I figured this was probably the best place to start.

Ask Outlook 2010 beta questions in the Outlook 2010 beta forum
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...utlook/threads

Ask SharePoint 2007 questions in one of the SharePoint forums.
microsoft.public.sharepoint.general is one, as is
