I have a report listing people who gained employment in the detail section .
I to add a number beside each name so I can quickly see how many people
achieved employment this month. Is there an easy way

Add a text box to the detail section. Set its controls
source expression to =1 and Running Sum to Over All

If you don't really need to see a number on each detail,
then just use a text box in the report footer with the
expression =Count(*)

Add a text box to the detail section:

Control Source: =1
Running Sum: Over All
