Corrupt PST
Hello,
I am trying to access a 80mb PST file and keep getting the following error when I try to open it using Outlook 2002 & 2007: THE FILE IS NOT A PERSONAL FOLDERS FILE. I ran the ScanPST.EXE & I get the following error when it is looking for the lost data: AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED WHICH CAUSED THE SCAN TO BE STOPPED. NO CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE SCANNED FILE. Any other resolutions would be much appreciated. Thank you. |

Is it possible that the read-only attribute is set on the file?

No 'read only' is not selected.

Then it means that the file is otherwise damaged. Is it on its original
location, or has it been copied from somewhere? Depending on the answer, - try running CHKDSK - try restore from backup - try copy again from original source bsbm525 wrote: No 'read only' is not selected. The hard drive has been re-formatted and the OS re-installed.
I recovered the PST using a 3rd party file recovery program called 'RecoverMyFiles' but now having this issue. I have a feeling it's a lost cause at this point. I am sorry, I have to agree with you. If it has not properly been backed
up before the re-format, there may be nothing to recover your original data. bsbm525 wrote: The hard drive has been re-formatted and the OS re-installed.
