Default System freezes up when editing data in a table

When I try to edit a table in Word, my computer freezes up. Ctrl+alt+delete
doesn't work. I have to hold in the power button for 10 seconds to turn off
my computer, then turn it back on. This issue used to be sporadic, but now
occurs every time I try to edit a table. This issue occurs when I try to edit
any table, it is not specific to one document.

Any suggestions?

I forgot to mention, I am using Word 2003 on a Windows 2K computer.

It sounds like an issue with your computer, not Word.

I would try re-installing Word.

You might also try using the task manager (ctrl+alt+del) and right-clicking
MS Word and increasing it's priority to "above average" - note that this
might also cause other aspects of your computer to behave oddly.
