Default Zip Codes

I run my mail merge list and it drops the leading zero in our zip codes. Why?

Thank you

Default Zip Codes

Because Word treats them as numbers, not "text"

Assuming they are 5-digit US ZIP codes, if you use Alt-F9 to view the
field codes and see something like

{ MERGEFIELD myzip }

type in \#00000 so it looks like

{ MERGEFIELD myzip \#00000 }

(Typically you can delete anything that looks like \*Mergeformat )

When you have the Mail Merge Main document open in Word, press Alt-F9

(Your ZIP code field in Word will look something like myzip until
you press Alt-F9)
