Did you do as the error message says and
Please visit http://mail.yahoo.com' ?

Can you access your mail account via that web site?

Yes, I did everything the message said, and yes I can access my emails from
the web. I thought I may have been putting the username and password in for
my yahoo account instead of for my ISP, so I corrected that and still no
joy. Then I came across a paragraph in the yahoo help page that stated in
order to access mail from yahoo to OE you have to subscribe to yahoo mail
plus for $19.99 a year - typical!!!

Only true for yahoo.com and yahoo.ca All other domains, such as
yahoo.co.uk, can be accessed through any email program such as Outlook
Express and Thunderbird. I use a few from the yahoo.es domain on two of
my computers with Outlook Express. You just got to make sure that you
activate it on the Yahoo web mail access or it won't work.

I guess I'll have to pay then, because my email ends with yahoo.com.
Another hurdle to climb, because the sign up page won't accept my card
details. Yahoo are currently looking into it. Maybe I should try to sign up
to a yahoo.co.uk email.

I would. It shouldn't take too long to let everyone know your new email
address and it's a lot cheaper ;-)

Rose for your yahoo.com accts you can use a program called YPOPS, I have it
checking several of my yahoo.com accts. You will need to read the setup
instructions carefully, especially if you are using another program to filter
out mail. Yahoo Mail, occasionally changes the interface for its webmail. You
may be able to just need to login on the website, and the close it. Then run OE
again and things will work.
1. Currently Yahoo is offering a Beta form of their mail service, to correct
not downloading mail through YPOPS, is to accept the beta change, the revert
back to the old mail service.

To Download the current version of YPOPS go to:
