Default Buying from ebay

I wanted to buy Office 2007 Enterprise off ebay.com. and the sellers are
offering it as a download. My question is. Is it leagle to do that. I see
from most of the descriptions that it can be downloaded, Or they send it to
you on a flash drive.

Any ideas from any one would be helpful. I just didn't want to place an
order for one of these to find out that's it's not leagel

It's not legal. Enterprise is a volume license so someone is violating the
license.

Joe

Enterprise versions of Office are VL (Volume License) versions which the public are
not able to purchase. The one that is selling this Enterprise version is either
selling a pirated version or a stolen version. He will not be able to sell you a
legal license key because that can be traced or it is already blocked. You and
anybody else trying to purchase it will be in for a rude awakening when trying to
activate. Stay away from this and as a matter of fact from any software that needs
an activation that is being sold on EBay. Chances are very high that it is pirated
or stolen.

You can of course report this to Microsoft using the phone number supplied in the
below link . Just scroll down to the United Sates number towards the bottom of the
page. It is a free 800 number . They take this type of reporting among many other
issues. At this moment the site is down for servicing but will up shortly

In addition to what Peter states, you could try notifying eBay. There's no
guarantee something will be done but at least you would have tried.

While not Office Enterprise, Open Office is a free product that has a
"similar" look and feel to it that Office 2003 had. In it's core 4
programs, 3 of which can open and write to Microsoft Office Word, Excel and
PowerPoint files (if you set the defaults to .doc, .xls, and .ppt they will
do so without a Save As). I haven't tried to use their database program so
I have no idea how compatible it is with Access. www.openoffice.org

While everything from Office will not work in exactly the same way, you
really can't beat the price and I have installed onto many different
computers and have had no complaints from those that have used it.

Sometimes all we can do is try. It's a sorry state of affairs, isn't it?
