Convert Word 2003 to Works
Hi, the new system that I purchased has OfficeWorks installed which I would
rather use that the (cumbersum) Office 2003 program and would like to know if their is an easy way to covert the xxx.doc files to Works xxx.wps format? Thanks, Bob |

Convert Word 2003 to Works
Does "Works" open the doc files? If so, you don't need to convert.

Convert Word 2003 to Works
Thanks for getting back to me Bob, YES, "Works" open(s) the doc files but I
have to change the search select to ALL FILES and if I make a change to the document, I need to save the DOC document as a WPS document so I thought that I would convert the doc to WPS and not have to worry about it. Thanks, Bob .. "Bob I" wrote: Does "Works" open the doc files? If so, you don't need to convert. Convert Word 2003 to Works
Not sure what "search" you are referring to. But you may make Works the
default handler for .doc and then just double click on the file in Windows Explorer. Convert Word 2003 to Works
Thank you again for the prompt response Bob, "search" is probably the wrong word, what I am refering to is that WPS is the default function to open documents and right now I have zero wps extension so if I want to open a .doc file, I need to change .pfs to all to see all of the )old) .doc that I have. My objective (what I would like to do) is when MSWorks Word opens, that the defualt option is ALL instead of .PFS. Thanks, Bob |

I don't know that you have that option, but the folks in the Works group
might know. Perhaps you might ask them.
