Plotting two dimensional ratings for list of items
I have a list of projects (40 of them). I've assigned each a rating (1 to10)
for "Market Demand" and also a rating for "Ease of Implementation." I want to plot them on a chart where the X axis is Market Demand and Y axis is Ease of Implementation. Any suggestions as to what type of chart to use and how to do this? |

Andy -
40 items might get crowded, but here's how you could do it. Put Project Name in column A, Market Demand in column B, and Ease of Implementation in column C. (You can use any three adjacent columns, in the same order.) Make an XY Scatter Chart. There are utilities freely available that can apply the labels from a worksheet range to the points in a chart. Two good ones are Rob Bovey's Chart Labeler (http://appspro.com) and John Walkenbach's Chart Tools (http://j-walk.com). These are free, easy to install, easy to use. Use one of these utilities to apply the Project Names to the points as data labels. If the project names are too large, you can put shorter codes, abbreviations or acronyms, or just a list of numbers in a column, and use this as the range for your labels. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com/ _______ Andy wrote: I have a list of projects (40 of them).
