Default Leading zeros in Cell

I can not get the leading zeros to show in my cells
I have gone to tools, veiw tab and selected the zero
values button and deselected it, and no luck
I need to show zeros as I input them

0125
0158
and when I enter the number it cuts the zero out
how can I fix this. a tad bit frustrated
thank you so much for all the help this site has given me.

You can format the cells to display a set number of digits. Excel will
still drop the leading 0's but display them. This means if you copy the
data you will not have the leading 0's

another way is to format the cell as text or enter a ' followed by your
number. ' forces a numeric entry to be entered as text. the ' will not
be displayed in the cell

In order to get the leading zeros in a cell to show or print you must type a single quotation mark at the beginning of the line. For example: '0000321

The quotation mark tells the program to show and print exactly what is input into the cell.

Hope this helps you.

Select the cell (s) or entire column, then Right-click Firmat cells
Number Tab Text OK.................this pre-formats the cell(s) as
"Text" which will accept your leading zeros without having to enter the
apostrophe first.

Dennis

Either pre-format the cells as TGext before entering the numbers or enter an
apostrophe then the number.

If you need them as numbers but look like 0123 and 0158 then.........

FormatCellsNumberCustom "0000"(no quotes)
