TOC not appearing in document
HI - I'm using Word 2002.
After going under Insert Reference Index Tables, I went through Options to indicate which Headings should appear in the TOC, Update from Template was shown, but when I had my cursor where the Table of Contents should've appeared, it doesn't do anything but does ask me if I want to replace the existing TOC. I then tried the Marking Table of Contents way but no luck there either. I'm wondering if the Table of Contents is not appearing because this Table of Contents needs to appear in the middle of the document, using the 2nd set of headings I created, (with different names)-? I also Cleared the Formatting at the point where I'd like the TOC to appear but that did not work either. Sorry to be so verbose but I do appreciate any insight you might have. thanks, Regina |

Did you click on Options and type in level numbers for the headings you want
included? -- Suzanne S. If you have another index or TOC somewhere else in your document
already, then that's why Word 2002 is asking if you want to replace the existing TOC. If you answer no, Word 2002 will insert the new index or TOC where your cursor is, and it will leave the existing index or TOC intact. Hope this helps. --garfield-n-odieATcharterDOTnet Regina K wrote: HI - I'm using Word 2002. TOC not appearing in document
Yes, I did do this. After scrolling through the document
to see where else TOC was (I inherited this document) it turns out that TOC was designated as the Style following certain headings. After I changed that, I also replied "no" to replacing the TOC and that worked. thanks for your help! -----Original Message----- Did you click on Options and type in level numbers for the headings you want included? -- Suzanne S.
