Default Office 2000 setup doesn't install license/reg info

Hello-
Hope you can help. Have Office 2k on Pent 4, Win 2k, 2gRAM, not installed
on boot drive, (but I tried that kind of install anyway, 2 no avail). After
what seems to be a succesful install of the program, I attempt 2 opn Word, or
anthr, and receive a dialog:
Required registry information is missing and this application cannot run.
Please rerun setup to correct this problem."
I'v alrdy tried the fixes offrd by MS on the main site, having both changed
permissions in the registry and in the dcom, again, 2 no avail. I don't c
any othr suggests in the knowbase; any ideas wht 2 do? Thanx.

Best,
Li

If you mean spec. MS registry files, I haven't seen any recognizable ones in
my Office folder, no...all other files seem to be intact, incl. winword.exe.
