Dealing with data on a form
I have a form which is for ordering things. It will be filled out by users.
Each time the form is brought up I want it to show a new blank record, ready for someone to enter. 1) How do I specify on loading the form that a blank record should be displayed? 2) How do I prevent the user from scrolling through other records? 3) I have a button at the bottom of the form called "submit" where I want the record saved and the form to end, how do I do that? I have just recently started using Access so please be specific on your answers. Thanks B |

Dealing with data on a form
Hi,
If you want your users to only ever enter new records and not be able to edit existing ones, set the "Data Entry" value to YES in the Form properties. Access saves data automatically by default, so there's no real reason for a "Save" button as such, but to force a save you use the following: if me.dirty then docmd.runcommand accmdSaveRecord end if To close a form, use the following: docmd.close Hope this helps.
