the "~" symbol in front of the file name ... how do I get ride of, or hide, the ghost file? |

That file is created as the Word's work file and should be deleted when you
exit out of Word or close the main file you are working on. If it is not, it can be safely deleted once the program has been closed. Occasionally if you exit Word in an abnormal manner (program crash or hang) the files will remain. "srerwin" wrote in message ... Bob I, I liked reading your answer, makes perfect sense, dis-enable showing hidden files. I'm on Windows 7 and I'd really like to know where to find the place to dis-enable them. Thanks a great deal. -- Crazy |
