how do i stop some one from changing a formula in a
specific cell

hi,

goto the cell, use Format/Cells/Protection ensure that
the cell has locked ticked.

Goto Tools/protection/protect sheet. supply a password if
you need to and if you have later versions of excel you
can specify some options.

You will also need to UNLOCK the cells you want the user
tobe able to use.
