I tried the cure suggestte above but didn't help.

I use Outlook 2003. Curiously, my reminders show up on my PDA. Any

Any advice?

My outlook profile has been recreated ie I have a new profile, it took less
than 5 minutes. All my settings remained the same, and I'm receiving
reminders now.

Ken,

Below you wrote, "If you use a PDA and synch software make sure you are
using the latest version. Some of that stuff synchs the hidden Reminders
folder and ends up corrupting it." I am using Intellisync to sync my
Blackberry with Outlook, I have run Outlook with /cleanreminders and
/resetfolders and I still get the "There was a problem reading one or more of
your reminders..." message when I start Outlook. If Intellisync has corrupted
my Reminders folder how do I fix it?

Did you get any errors?

If no errors then you might have a corrupted profile. Another possibility is
if you are using a PDA and synching with Outlook.

You can create a new Outlook profile from scratch and see if that works.

If you use a PDA and synch software make sure you are using the latest
version. Some of that stuff synchs the hidden Reminders folder and ends up
corrupting it.

If those switches don't work and a new profile doesn't work and this keeps
happening I'd suggest using different synch software.

Based on your response below I am assuming that the only solution, when PDA
software corrupts your reminders folder and /cleanreminders does not work, is
to create a new profile? I did that and it worked. Thanks It is a shame
that my PDA has caused me to have to create a new profile and import all of
my PST files, but at least now it works. Thanks again

Creating a new profile is a fix for many things, not just this. If
/cleanreminders doesn't work and /resetfolders doesn't work the next steps
usually are to run Scanpst.exe (Inbox repair tool) and if that doesn't help
then to create a new profile.

If I was using any badly written software that corrupted things regularly
I'd uninstall it and use something else.

Hello, your solution workd I think for part of the problem, which was
reminders would not hold flagged items. Now I need to insert in the run field
the correct/previoud string so that it will open without an error message on
the switch. What do I type to solve this?

Thanks, JR

A comment...I have been having the same problem since applying one of the
Windows updates (not sure which one). But I tried this and it worked!!! I
found it best to simply copy the directions (outlook.exe /resetfolders
/cleanreminders) and paste into the Run dialog.

What a relief! But what caused this?

I'm not sure I understand your question.

Do you mean how to enter both switches? Just open Start, Run and in that
dialog enter the following, without the quotes but with the spaces before
the switches:

"outlook.exe /resetfolders /cleanreminders"

Then press the Enter key.

Try starting Outlook with the /resetfolders and /cleanreminders switches. In

outlook.exe /resetfolders /cleanreminders

Then press Enter. See if that helps.
