find command sql slow

any way to speed up the Find function when a form is bound to a query and
using ms sql server backend. indexing and sorting do not help. it is
hanging up.

Care to give us some hints about the nature of the query or the code?

Generally one would create a highly selective query retrieving just a single
record, or a small number of records, and pass that Query to SQL, rather than
binding the form to a large table and then using the Find function.

the app was recently converted to using linked sql tables. all forms
use what ever data source they had before the conversion. the form in
question is bound to a query that contains 3 tables.
if we have to redesign we will.
just wondering if there was some known trick to make the Find function
speed up.
