Page footers
I use Access to print mailing labels, and the Labels (reports) created work
great. I need to add page numbers in the footer, but when I add the footer, the layout of the labels changes, and the number of labels per page changes. What I need is to add the page number at the very bottom of the page, below the last label.. Hope this info explains the situation plainly enough, and any assistance is appreciated.... |

You may or may not be able to do this depending on the abilities of your
printer and the labels you are using. Most printers have a minimum size for the margins and you cannot set the margins below that minimum. When you add the footer, you take up some of the page space, so you will need to decrease the bottom margin by the height of the footer that you have added. You're not going to be able to and get all of the labels. 1) There is usually only 1/2 inch of space under the last label on the page, and most printers cannot print that close to the bottom, i.e. my printer bottom no print zone is 0.46". Not too much use I would get out of the .04" difference. 2) Adding a Page Footer to the label report will, as you have found out, throw the layout off. 3) If this is a critical need, why not simply blow the last row of labels. Use the page footer, displaying the page number where the bottom row of labels should be. Set the page's Bottom Margin to about 1 inch. -- Fred Please respond only to this newsgroup. Thanks for the replies.....
I was able to change the bottom margin in the report to 0" and add footer. My printer will print the footer and the labels are still oriented properly.. Thanks again......
