You must install an Upgrade package on a machine where an exisiting Qualified Base Product is installed. The new machine has no qualified base product, so the Upgrade cannot be installed there. |

If this is an activation code for Office 2003 on the old computer it can't be used to activate the trial software that comes on most new computers. If you have purchased a license for 2007 upgrade then you need the companion software disk to install the programs onto the new computer after you uninstall the Office trial software and also it's activation assistant. You would also need a qualifying upgradable product from this list: Microsoft Works 6.0–10; Microsoft Works suite 2000–2006 or later; any 2000–2007 Microsoft Office program or suite; any Microsoft Office XP suite except Office XP Student and Teacher. If you don't have a disk that qualifies then you can't install using your upgrade software. If neither of these conditions are correct then please post back with exactly what activation key you have (read the information on the label,) whether you have the same software version installation media, etc. |
