Default English XP OS with Japanese Office XP

When I load the Japenese Office application on an English XP laptop. The
fields all appear displayed in question marks. ("????????") I have the
japanese language installed on the tool bar. But also some of the tabs
display garbage characters like trade marks, %, squares and other characters.
Does anyone know what I might try to resolve this issue?

Hi Cowboy,

The information in this article may be helpful.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290237/en-us?FR=1

It sounds like perhaps the Windows MUI interface or the needed fonts for displaying the menu choices may not be installed but you
might want to check in Start=Run=Microsoft Office Tools in the Language Settings tool to see if Japanese is listed as an Installed
Office language.
