how can i get multiple names in one box in an org chart in Visio 2003 when
using an excel spreadsheet as the data source?
For example, there are 5 doctors and 7 nurses, all reporting to Manager.
Rather than listing all 12 individually which is what the wizard does, how
can they be shown in the same box as their colleagues? eg. one box containg
all the nurses, and another box with the doctors, then these 2 boxes
reporting to the Manager.

If you have completely described what you want, the best way to do this is
use the standard objects (not org chart) and draw what you want. OrgChart
does not easily do what you want.

If you feel you want to use OrgChart, then you will need to put the data in,
say, excel and associate the rows with the specific OrgChart object. First,
build the org chart the way you want it to look. DO NOT use the default Name
and Title fields. INstead, drag the specific rows from the ExternalData
window to the Org object. You can then customize the layout of the data as
displayed in the Org object

Actually, having multiple names via Excel and the Wizard is fairly easy.
Assuming you have an importable Excel file, go to the cell that has the name
of your Dr. Put the cursor at the end of the name, press "Alt" + "Enter".
Type the next name. Continue for the remaining names. Excel will enter each
name on a new line is the same cell.

Now, save and import into Visio. You may have to resize the shape to have
the names fit within the box.
