Default access book for beginners with excersizes

I need an access book for beginning programing with some practice excersizes.
I have formerly worked in the Unix environment as a programmer on databases
in the C language. I have a power programming book for access but it assumes
that one is upgrading from a previous version of access and has familiarity
with the Visual Basic or VBA, etc.

Thanks

Hi glo,

My vote would be for "Access xx Programming for Windows for Dummies"
(IDG Books Worldwide) by Rob Krumm. The guide includes a CD with
multiple .mdb files which provide examples of the database elements
discussed in each chapter. Another excellent reference is "Access
Database Design & Programming" (O'Reilly & Associates, Inc.) by Steven
Roman.
