Outlook, or Outlook Express? They are different programs. If Outlook
Express:

So are you asking about Outlook (as per the body of your post) or about
Outlook EXPRESS (as per the subject of your post). They are different
and unrelated products.

Outlook and Outlook Express are not the same application. Please be careful
of your "shorthand"!

You have to enter a password to open OE or to poll your mail account for new
messages?

Please start your own new thread in the future. Thank you.

You most likely need to follow the directions here.

I'm having the same problem (OE 6). I went to the MS kb 290684 as
suggested. It suggested creating another identity. Did that but still
have the same problem. Tried running OE in safe mode as suggested, but it
brought up Outlet. The final suggestion is to edit the registry -
something I really don't feel comfortable doing. Maybe I could delete my
identities? But remove is grayed out.
