I just got office home / student. I can't send mail or attachments through
word. I have Windows vista, and windows mail ONLY, but it can't seem to
recognize it. Is there a way to use windows mail?

Well, Windows Mail seems to work OK here as long as I set it up to be the
default e-mailer in Windows button|Default programs|Set Default programs. I
can then use the Word Office button|Send options fien with Windows Mail.

However I do also have Outlook (2003) here and I suppose it is possible that
it installs something that Windows Mail does not have and which Word needs
to perform this function. The only thing I can suggest is that you try the
suggestion in

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918792/en-us

or

even though it does not appear to be directly related to your problem
